If you use laptops within your business you should always check the scope of your cover. For example there could be warranties within your policy that state all Laptops need to be locked away at night when not in use.

Another potential problem are the geographical limits - most policies will provide cover on either an 'all risk' basis or just as 'business contents' - the difference between the two being whether cover is provided outside your premises. If you do use the equipment outside of your premises you should ensure you have 'all risk' cover then review whether UK only is sufficiently or if European / Worldwide cover is required.

We have seen instances where laptops have been taken abroad and it has been assumed the cover is in place as the specific laptop is on the schedule. It turned out that the insured did have the laptop insured on an 'all risk' basis but only had cover in the uk only.

If you are unsure about your cover limits or would like us to provide you with a comprehensive review of your Insurance requirements please contact Paul Bentley on 0161 669 6166

Are you being served?

As an Independent Insurance Broker service is paramount to everything we do - our view is if we dont look after our clients someone else will.

This begs the question as a business, are you being served? Do you believe your Insurance Broker does enough for you.

If you have to think about it then now might be the time to seek a full review of your requirements.

We apprecaite businesses are looking to cut costs and we would always provide the best possible terms however we do believe that giving the best advice is what an Insurance Broker should be doing - not just reducing premium which can often lead to reductions in cover !!

For a review of your requirements call 0161 669 6161.
